Hello Kitty Haiku
Okay Clark County Library District. I’ve been holding it hostage.

The Hello Kitty Haiku book.
Technically it’s Hello Kitty Everywhere!. The concept and photographs by Jennifer Butefish and Maria Fernanda Soares are brilliantly matched with the text by Kate J. Williamson.
Boo found the book on the shelf. I think she had it for about a day.
I crept in one night and stole it. It’s been traveling with me to and from work, Utah, California and many points in between. I’ve been meaning to write this post about it, but I’ve been putting it off because, once I write it, it means that I have to give the book back.
It’s time to let go. It needs to be shared with the world the other card holders of the Clark County Library District.
But before it goes, let me share some of the sheer gems contained on its glossy pages.

Wind whistling sideways,
I listen to the concert
and hold on tightly.
Okay, that’s kinda your quintessential sticky-sweet HK kind of stuff. Try this one on.
Soaring high above,
I see the world more clearly.
Best behavior, please!
Okay, you heard it folks. Here comes the Sanrio Santa. If that poetic threat isn’t enough for you, HK is ready to put on the pleather and get dominatrix on your ass.
Rumor has it HK will be to Vegas. She’ll do the live kids show at the Orleans Arena by day. After a few rounds at Rain, she’s bound to be wrapped around a pole sooner or later.
Ah, Vegas baby.
